Fishing is My Favorite Hobby

In my opinion, nothing is more relaxing and enjoyable than spending a day fishing with friends. The adrenaline rush I get when a fish hits my lure is one of the best feelings in the world. I simply love fishing, it’s my favorite hobby.

This past winter I was surfing the internet and came across a site, http://www.fishing-ebooks.com/, which sells a guide that teaches the art of making your own fishing lures. I always thought about making my own lures, but I guess I didn't really have enough information on how to do it. Like I said it was winter time, so I was pretty bored sitting in my house just watching television, so I decided to buy the guide from the site and give it a shot. The guide was only $9.95 so the investment was small, and as a bonus I got another e-book with tons of recipes for fish and other seafood dishes.

The Guide to Making Fishing Lures

Buying the guide was a great decision. It gave me all the information needed to create any fishing lure I wanted. The guide includes information on:
  • The supplies needed to make the lures, most which I had already
  • Detailed descriptions on how to construct the lures
  • All the different types of lures, and the best and most efficient ones to make
  • Ways of using common materials, such as corks
  • What colors to use
  • How to test the lures at home
  • Using spoons effectively
  • Attaching hooks, eyes, and hair or feathers
  • Fixing broken lures

For all the information in the guide, it is definitely the $9.95.

Making lures in my spare time is my new hobby. I made a bunch of lures over the past six months, for only pennies each. Lures cost $2-$15, so I saved a lot of money by making lures myself. I even sold some at a rummage sale I had, and made over $20 from them.

Making fishing lures is my second favorite hobby, aside from fishing with them. It keeps me involved with fishing off the water. It is especially great to do in winter time.

I would have to say my favorite part of making the lures myself, is the good feeling I get when I catch a fish with one I made. I also enjoy the reaction my buddies give me when they see my lures. They are extremely impressed, and ask to borrow them all the time when I’m fishing. Almost all the lures in my tackle box are ones that I created.

I highly recommend making your own fishing lures. Not only do you save money on expensive lures from the store, but you gain a hobby. Believe me you will enjoy it.
